Academician Rexhep Qosja has reacted to the death of Ismail Kadare. Both have exceptional values and in many cases there have been debates and controversies between them. Qosja has not spared Kadare in many cases, not sparing criticism. In his reaction, he does not hide this, saying that those who argue among themselves, love each other.
Qose's reaction
On Monday, July 1, intellectual and creator Ismail Kadare passed away. He expressed his deepest condolences to his very honorable and beloved wife, the writer Helena Kadare, his daughters Gresa and Besiana and all other family members of the Kadare family.
I express my deepest condolences to his many friends, colleagues, colleagues and readers.
Ismail Kadare and I have had occasional family meetings, conversations, evaluations and mutual respects.
The mutual understanding and respect between Ismail Kadare and I would largely be based on my attitude towards him when he would move from Tirana to Paris.
To the dissenters who will criticize Ismail Kadare with his family who left the Motherland, I will answer them: this is the attitude of the patriot and creator Ismail Kadare, and we must respect his attitude with mind and heart. I am sure that we will soon see and experience the fruits of Ismail Kadare's move to Paris in our national culture.
Ismail Kadare and I have written about each other's creativity from time to time. I have proposed the translation of his novel Castle into Serbo-Croatian language and I have written a very appreciative introduction to the novel and its creator Ismail Kadaren.
Ismail Kadare, meanwhile, has written the foreword for my novel Death comes to me from such eyes, published in Paris.
However, between Ismail Kadare and me, there have been controversial judgments and evaluations from time to time as a result of our different views on various cultural and literary issues in general.
In European literature, the belief accepted by the most prominent European creators that those who argue with each other, they argue because they respect and love each other, has become historic.
I console the family members of Ismail Kadare and the other mourners with the belief that the separation of Ismail Kadare from life is only a bodily separation.
His name and biography are eternal, because they are immortal name and biography, they are historical.
Ismail Kadare's multifaceted creativity is timeless and timeless: literary prose, journalistic writings, historical literary and critical essays. All these - the name Ismail Kadare, his biography, mental creativity, cultural, social, ethical and national activity in general constitute the great Albanian cultural value. Thanks to them, Ismail Kadare in the present and in the future will be a great historical personality of the Albanian Nation, to whom all generations of Albanians will donate their feelings, their thoughts, their devotions, regardless of where they will live.
