During today, high-intensity rainfall is forecast, mainly in the north and south of the country.
According to IGJEO, in the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Vlorë and Gjirokastër there may be flash floods of small mountain rivers and landslides. In urban areas, localized flooding problems may occur in these regions, depending on the state of the sewerage.
According to IGJEO calculations, intense rainfall is expected during the period (4-8 January 2026), mainly in the north and south of the country. These rainfalls will bring dangerous increases in flows and levels in the Drin-Buna rivers, Lake Skadar, the Mat, Shkumbin and Vjosa rivers.
In the Lezha region, moderate to locally intense rainfall is expected, while in the other regions, moderate rainfall is expected. The rainfall is expected to be accompanied by storms.
Meanwhile, minimum and maximum air temperatures are expected to reach:
on the coast: 12/ 16 °C
in lowlands: 12 / 15 °C
in mountainous areas: 5 / 10 °C
