The President of the Chamber of Advocates, Maks Haxhia, spoke about the arrest of lawyer Ulian Bajrami, after a debate in the courtroom.
Haxhia considered it "terrible" that lawyers are being treated the same as defendants. He also criticized the indifference of the KLP.
" They treat the lawyer the same as the defendant and this is terrible. The Criminal Code says that anyone who finds a criminal offense has the obligation to file a report. The lawyer has found evidence distortion and says he will file a report. The indifferent attitude of the KLP and the heads of justice is worrying. They should have sounded the alarm today.
The problem is not to hold a prosecutor accountable, but the line that is being taken. If this continues, there will be no more trials. If the Chamber of Advocates decided to boycott criminal trials, if this spirit prevails, this problem will not be solved.
