Journalist Arjon Sulo has expressed deep skepticism about the European Union's stance towards Albania's membership, describing the enthusiasm expressed by the EU as "fake" and politically motivated.
According to Sulo, Prime Minister Edi Rama is also aware of this reality, but uses it for personal and political gain.
"Yes, it's true. He also used it in the campaign. He knows the big truth, which is that, if it's for criteria, Albania can only enter the EU politically, " Sulo said, referring to Rama's rhetoric on European integration, in an interview with Euronews Albania.
Sulo underlined that EU member states have "played dirty" throughout the history of enlargement.
" They have been hypocrites. And if tomorrow the "war" ends or some far-right populist wave occurs in France or Germany, we are out ," the journalist adds.
Commenting on Prime Minister Rama's behavior on the international stage, Sulo said that he uses the issue of integration, giving benefits to foreigners at the expense of the country's interests.
" Rama knows this, that's why he holds summits, he does personal politics by giving benefits to foreigners from the country's interests ," he added.
