Sara Mila is the surprise of the May 11 elections in Elbasan, having emerged as the most voted candidate with over 18 thousand votes. Mila has been accused by the opposition of being supported by crime, specifically by Suel Çela.
Journalist Klodiana Lala, providing an overview of the impact of crime on the elections, stated that the case of Sara Mila is strange, as an unknown person was ranked first with a high number of votes.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Lala said that it is up to SPAK to prove whether Mila has sponsors from organized crime, specifically from Suel Çela's group.
" Understanding that patronage is a perfect scheme built by the socialist majority, which has enabled a high number of mandates, has created fear of voting for other subjects. When citizens are asked who they voted for, they tell it off camera, but they were afraid that it would be discovered where they were sending their votes. Albania has been emptied, the vast majority is administration, they have been asked to bring photographed votes from the diaspora.
Crime has had its impact. In Elbasan, Sara Mila is a lady without any public contribution, but she turns out to be the most voted woman in the Elbasan district. How is it possible for a woman who was not known by 90% of the citizens?
If you talk to citizens in Elbasan or Librazhd, they will tell you, not only to me as a journalist, but also to BIRN, where citizens were oriented to vote for this lady. The fact that there was no public contribution and she results in the most votes, this raises doubts that organized crime has had an influence. It is suspected that Suel Çela's group had an influence, this remains to be proven by SPAK.
"The lady can come out and give her reaction. If you talk to the citizens, they were oriented towards this lady. She has a very valuable contribution within the SP, who did not receive votes. If you go to Durrës, we knew what Arkend Balla and Anri Dyrmish would have ," said Lala, among other things.
