The Economy Committee met this Tuesday, where a hearing session is being held with interest groups on the Fiscal Package.
Gentjan Lalaj, from the Association of Dairy Farmers, focused on several issues faced by this sector, requesting, among other things, that a VAT equalization be established, and that local dairy farmers have the opportunity to sell their products.
"It's a paradox, milk was requested from Italy in our country, and we couldn't sell it because we're not allowed to create a cooperative. Then we're taking the milk out. There are farms that don't get milk for reasons we know very well.
"We demand equalization of VAT no matter how much it is imposed. Albanian farmers cannot sell their products to us because we cannot buy them because VAT is not recognized in the system, and we are forced to buy Serbian corn and barley, products that come from the region and we cannot do it to our neighbors who beg us to buy them at a miserable price," said Lalaj.
As for the "cooperative", he said that this is not possible to achieve.
"We see the union of farmers as something unrealizable, today it is not becoming brother with brother, and not 7 livestock farmers. We have also said it in the Ministry of Agriculture... it is impossible to bring livestock farmers or farmers together. And if it is done, it will not last long because the paths of cooperation are not being found through the boards. The cooperative in livestock farming does not function, at least for the moment, because there are many losses and losses that cannot be shown where they occurred ," he said.
Meanwhile, SP MP Erion Braçe came out in support of him, saying that these requests have been made before, but according to him, they have not been taken into consideration by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy.
"The gentleman's proposals are not the first time, he has been making them for years, and ministers have also listened to them. The problem is that time flies, and time for them is an aging cow that no longer produces, a farm that burns down, floods, and so on. All the proposals he made and has made from time to time have no cost to the state budget, they are adjustments to what we have today without adding a single lek of cost.
This story that the ministry says we will do it the way we say, has brought about this situation. The Minister of Agriculture has been in office for two months, he could reflect, but he said 'I am satisfied'. The Minister of Finance has heard these problems. The representative of the Chamber of Commerce, as they coordinate the price, they also coordinate the behavior, and I understand why they did not come here today ," said Braçe.
