The General Directorate of the State Police has decided to reward employees with police ranks who served in local structures during the summer season, for their commitment to guaranteeing public order and security.
The order signed by the Police leaders states that the employees will receive a reward of 30 thousand lek for "the professional commitment and dedication shown in the successful management of the tourist season."
"To reward police officers with police rank in local structures with the motivation: 'For the professional commitment and dedication shown in the successful management of the tourist season, guaranteeing public order and safety', in the amount of 30,000 lek," the decision states.
The order tasks the human resources structures at the local level with the preparation of the relevant documentation and orders for remuneration. The financial effects will be covered by the approved budget for 2025, in the "State Police" program.
The decision comes into effect immediately and is expected to affect a large number of officers engaged in tourist spots and cities during the summer months, when the influx of citizens and tourists brings the need for increased law enforcement.
This award is seen as a recognition of the work of the field at a time when the operational workload for officers has been significantly higher, while reports of lack of motivation and unfavorable pay in the police have increased in recent years.
