The Director of the Magistrates' School, Arben Rakipi, who destroyed this important institution, in an unusual television appearance, declared that the charges brought against him are blackmail due to his position.
Although accused of clientelistic selection of candidates who gain the right to be admitted to the Magistrate's School, also under investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for such cases of abuse of office and corruption, he blames those who have denounced him for inequality, as blackmailers, thus taking on the role of the victim.
" The integrity element in its entirety leaves much to be desired. I see ease in violating the rule, ease in violating the law, I see a lack of humanity, a lack of interest in fighting for the public good, I see avoidance of addressing essential matters. I am talking about the entire system, starting with our school. In our school, 5 students were expelled because they cheated during the exam. This was an unusual event in our school and their expulsion came as a result of violating the Code of Ethics and Integrity that we believe a magistrate should have. The serious violation reflected exactly that weakness that I just mentioned - the ease with which the law is treated, giving no hope that the future judge will have this kind of dignity ," he said in the show "Pa Censurë" on RTSH.
Despite his claims, it is worth noting that in May of last year, the BKH found evidence of corruption and investigated the purchase of student admission places for prosecutors and judges at the Magistrates' School, filing the names of customs officers, tax officers, police chiefs, family members of businessmen and traffickers, who paid thousands of Euros to be included on the winning list.
" What is being said is just blackmailing the courts that are reviewing the case, blackmailing the school to ease its stance towards those who were penalized, and blackmailing the school in anticipation of the entrance exam this year," Rakipi added.
Pressed by the journalist on how it is possible that 5 people who are neither prosecutors nor judges are so powerful as to openly blackmail him, Rakipi evades by saying that he has interests and people who support him, or in other words, the people who support him have not "been forgiven" by him in advance to receive his "blessing".
" There are many interests here, there are people who support them. Plagiarism in this system, the appropriation of academic titles and flaunting them when you don't deserve them is a very widespread vice and behavior in the system. Here I see the reason that the integrity of the system must be taken seriously ," he said, among other things.
