In case of war, who can defend Albania? Dritan Demiraj: The US and Turkey are

Security expert Dritan Demiraj has commented on the defense of Albania and Kosovo in the event of an attack, emphasizing that in such a situation, Albania would be protected not only by the United States of America, but also by Turkey.

According to him, Albania is very vulnerable to threats and risks, not only regional, but also broader, and it is necessary to create a joint defense strategy between Albania and Kosovo.

On the show 'Log.' on News24, Demiraj stressed the importance of a common national security strategy for both countries, suggesting that the Ministries of Defense of Kosovo and Albania work together to strengthen joint defense.

One of the main points of this cooperation, according to Demiraj, is the integration of the armies of both countries, a step that is currently missing, but which he considers necessary to strengthen the security and stability of the region.

If we have a hypothetical case where Albania could be attacked, will America come to protect us?

Dritan Demiraj: Without a doubt, not only the US, but we also have other allies, one of the allies is Turkey, which I don't believe would not intervene.

Colonel Demiraj also commented on the statements of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, who, as he said, seeks to take a leadership role.

"Currently, the proposal that Macron has made is that he should take the leading role, since he also has nuclear weapons. This has created a huge debate in the US. According to top analysts, this is an emotional statement because President Macron has minimal political support in his country. Meanwhile, the economy and internal problems in France are higher than ever. Taking into account the capacities of France's land, sea, air nuclear umbrella, it is impossible to fulfill this mission that Macron is taking on ," said Demiraj.
