Since the beginning of this month, our country has been hit by continuous rainfall, and according to forecasts, unstable weather conditions will continue in the coming weeks.
Invited to the show "Today Live in Albania", Anira Gjoni from the Institute of Geosciences announced that February is ending with temperatures above the multi-year average, while precipitation will remain present almost throughout the week.
"This year too, February results in temperatures above the multi-year average. We will have precipitation this week. Today and tomorrow we will have moderate to intense precipitation in the regions of Shkodër, Dibër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Vlorë, Gjirokastët and Elbasan ," said Gjoni.
According to her, Wednesday will bring a temporary cessation of precipitation and a drop in temperatures, but the situation will change again later in the week.
"Wednesday will bring an end to the rain and a drop in temperatures. During these two days, at altitudes of 600 m above sea level, we will have snowfall in the Alps and in the east. Thursday brings back rain in all regions. The last week of rain will also end like this. March will be the month that will bring an end to the rain and the return of the sun," emphasized Gjoni.
As for temperatures for tomorrow, they are predicted to be 9-10 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, 6-9 degrees Celsius in low-lying areas, and -1 to 4 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday in mountainous areas, minimum temperatures are expected to drop to -5 degrees Celsius, which according to Gjoni will bring frost on the roads. For this reason, drivers are advised to exercise increased caution while driving.
