Readers of "Pamphlet", we invite you to follow the noon news edition, where among other things we highlight:
Balluk's Immunity
Date of the Mandates Council meeting set
The Mandates Council will meet on February 23, at 10:00, to review SPAK's request to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity.
Meanwhile, today the SP parliamentary group also met, where it proposed the initiative for legal amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code. The proposal bears the signatures of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the chairman of the Laws Committee, Ulsi Manja, and the chairman of the SP group, Taulant Balla.
According to the proposal, seven new subjects are added to whom the security measure of suspension of duty cannot be extended. These are the President, the Ombudsman, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, members of the Constitutional Court and the chairman of the High State Council.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the decision to suspend a minister is scandalous and unjustifiable as it does not affect the person, but the function. According to him, the proposed legal changes do not affect the judicial power and stated that the executive power is independent in its right to make decisions.
He announced that Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has submitted her resignation to him three times, but he has not accepted it because, according to him, "there is no resignation under pressure and in violation of executive power."
The head of government stated, among other things, that this initiative and the case for immunity against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku in the Assembly are unrelated. He emphasized that the issue of immunity will be addressed first and then the amendments will be put to a vote.
Berisha is not angry with Dumani,
16 requests to investigate me and my nieces
Democratic leader Sali Berisha appeared at SPAK on Monday morning, in implementation of the "compulsory appearance" security measure related to the Partizani file.
In a statement to journalists, Berisha also revealed the message he left for the BKH investigators.
Berisha further accused the former head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, of having signed 16 requests to investigate him and his nieces, even 4 years before their birth.
AFF Elections
The Eternal Duke and His Dervishes
Today, the Albanian Football Federation is holding elections. There is no race for president, because Armand Duka has no rival. The last one who wanted to take the post died. He will be elected unanimously with "83" votes, but his "presidential" career, which begins with Erzeni of Shijak, will be discussed next time.
Real elections by vote will be held for the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Federation, which is the highest collegial body, which makes decisions during the periods between the two Assemblies. It is elected by the General Assembly and consists of 11 members. Currently, to date, this committee has Armand Duka (President), Lutfi Nuri (First Vice President), Arben Dervishaj (Second Vice President) and 8 other members. In addition to the untouchable president, others will compete. Among them, again Arben Dervishaj, a character mentioned for affairs in the justice sector, who passes as a shadow in the sports sector.
Candidate Dervishaj, under the shadow of Duka, stands out not for his sporting vision or contribution to the football field, but for a reality that goes beyond sports, his confrontation with justice. His name was often discussed when it came up in the incinerator affair.
Investigated by SPAK, arrested, defendant, isolated in the Durrës Penitentiary, released from prison by the GJKKO and its Appeals, for serious criminal charges, which will be sealed or not by the Supreme Court, he returns to the tribune of the most beloved sport of Albanians, with a stain on his "biography".
Armand Duka did not ask about the reputation of the Albanian Football Association when he kept his deputy imprisoned while still in office, just like Edi Rama did his deputy. Maybe both of them know that the deputies are innocent, or do they have something else in mind?
Former anti-terror director reveals details: Emanuela Daci prevented Eva from returning to Albania
Eva Dumani is now at home.
A journey that took 12 years to successfully complete, after the failure of several private and state attempts.
For former counter-terrorism director Gledis Nano, who has led previous operations to repatriate Eva and other Albanians from Syria, the latest operation was quite complex.
Eva's brother, Endri, was rescued from the hell of Al Hol camp in October 2020 in a rescue operation by Albanian authorities, while Eva was prevented from joining her family by camp radicals.
Returning to her family is not the end. Eva will now begin a journey towards rehabilitation to live in freedom.
Data shows that since 2012, around 150 Albanians have gone to Syria and been radicalized to join ISIS. Currently, it is believed that only 30 of them remain in Syria.
