Mensur Gashi, the son of Muarrem Gashi who lost his life during the pilgrimage to Mecca, confessed in a link to the "Review" show on Euronews Albania that they could not bury his father's body in Albania.
Mansuri said that burying his father's body in Albania was impossible, as according to him, Sharia law in Saudi Arabia states that a person who dies on Haj must be buried there.
He said that he had communicated with his father the day before he passed away and according to Mansuri, the cause of his death may have been the extreme heat and high temperatures.
" It was a difficult situation for us as a family, because we lost the head of the family. He had left for Hajj for the first time. He was 63 years old. He has never had any health problems. He died on June 13. Thursday morning. Until that day he was in good health.
It was hot there too, but on the hot days, they didn't go outside. The day before I communicated. We had communication several times a day, 2-3 times. He was a little sick the day before. I told him you have a cold. We don't have anything official, but next week those who were together will return from Haxhi and we expect to learn something.
We tried to bring the parent back to Kosovo, to bury him in his hometown, but this is impossible, because it is the Sharia law there, which says that it is not allowed for a person who dies on Hajj to return to his hometown. He was buried on June 14 there. We thought about going, but it was impossible. We think we will go later ", said Gashi.
