The European Union has once again postponed the implementation date of the so-called European Travel against Payment System (ETIAS).
It was claimed by European officials that ETIAS would become operational by the middle of 2024, but now the EU has confirmed that the implementation date has been rescheduled to May 2025 with the possibility of further postponement.
This scheme is similar to that of the United States of America, where travelers complete an ESTA before arriving on American soil.
This is an EU border security system, an automated system that, in the future, will register travelers from third world countries including Albania whenever they cross an external EU border. Every citizen from our country and other countries outside the EU will be able to make an online application, an application that will be valid for 3 years against the payment of an amount of 7 Euros. In this online application, those who want to travel to the Schengen area must enter their biometric data before departure, and in a few minutes you will receive an answer to their e-mail address.
The postponement of the implementation of the ETIAS system has also been confirmed by the French Foreign Ministry without specifying a more precise period when this should happen.
