The lawyer of Fatmir Mediu has reacted after the decision of GJKKO to postpone again the hearing against the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, as far as the Gërdec case is concerned.
Through a statement to the media, the defense lawyer has considered the extension of the judicial process against his client to be a waste. He also commented on the acceptance of family members as parties in the process, for whom he said that there was no objection to being part of the process, but according to him, changing the decisions of the court in this way is losing the meaning of the process.
"We have had no objection to having a presence in the hall. We have our two pillars as a defense. First, there is no criminal offense. And the second pillar cannot be done because of the statute of limitations. We demand an end to all this nonsense because it is losing its meaning.
Judicial economy is one of the principles on which a judicial process in Albania is built. We would have to have a court stay immediately. We will also take a stand in the next session," said Mediu's defense lawyer ," said the lawyer.
