" Today we are in such conditions, where the loss of a prosecutor or judge's life is far from certain, but be sure that that moment will come. It will come, sir. Politics killed them, organized crime. They killed the judge of Vlora. Who killed the others? Such serious events have also occurred, where both prosecutors and judges were killed. They were killed ."
This was the strong statement made on September 17th in the studio of the show "Off the Record" by Andrea on A2 CNN, by former DP MP, Dashnor Sula, which unfortunately became reality this Monday.
Sula said that Albania is in such conditions, where even people in the judiciary can be killed, while on Monday, Judge Astrit Kalaja was executed inside the Court of Appeals.
Two other citizens, a father and son, were also injured in this serious incident. One of them received a bullet in the arm, the other a bullet below the rib.
Kalaja had been a judge at the Court of Appeals for 12 years. In December 2019, he was confirmed in office by the Evaluation Commission, after the vetting process, writes A2 CNN.
