Forensic expert Ervin Karamuço stated that the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja at the Court of Appeals is an alarm bell.
He said that this is a premeditated murder, adding that security should be higher. He further emphasized that this event should be a wake-up call for the KLP and KLGJ, which according to him should urgently take the necessary steps to guarantee security in the Courts.
"I don't think it's a mafia murder. It would be a well-thought-out assassination if it were. These are not cases. It was premeditated as a murder due to anger at so-called injustice. I must clarify that we have a decision on a specific element on the security of the court that an organization is being established where there is also control of the authorities who enter these premises. And for five years we have left the lives of our prosecutors in the hands of some people. They sit there on benches watching the detector to see who enters and who leaves. But it should have been a control where the perimeter of the building was left to the State Police, so it is absurd to let down the fence. It was foreseen that it could happen because the flow of people and security was extremely low. We have had cases where people were shot and killed, I remember an event in Lezha. Previously, the alarms fell on deaf ears. The police have tried to take control, a control with a budget and equipment, but this has not happened. There should be an alarm bell like for the KLP as well as for the KLGJ to propose a budget, the lives of judges and prosecutors have not been in the protection of trained people... ", he said in an interview on the "Real Story" show on ABC News.
