At the initiative of the General Inspectorate, inspectors of the National Food Authority (AKU) in Korça have conducted inspections in two businesses in the city, specifically in a milk and its by-products processing plant, as well as in a chicken meat processing plant.
The inspection process was closely supervised by a team from the General Inspectorate, with a focus on following legal procedures, the professional conduct of inspectors, and the proper documentation of each step of the inspection. The relevant authorization and accompanying documentation were also verified.
According to the official announcement, these inspections were carried out within the framework of the implementation of Law No. 99/2024 "On Inspection in the Republic of Albania" and aim to increase transparency and public trust.
During the supervision, the use of work equipment was also monitored, including identification tools, relevant documentation, data recording equipment, as well as protective equipment according to the required standards.
All findings and assessments are reflected in a report by the General Inspectorate on the performance of the inspection body, which will serve for further analysis, improvement of standards and increased accountability.
The General Inspectorate emphasizes that its role is to supervise the inspection body and guarantee the legality of the process, with the aim of implementing the same procedures for all entities and strengthening public trust.

As announced on Tuesday by the Inspector General, Mr. Dashnor Sula, today on 23.04.2026, on his initiative, inspectors of the Regional Directorate of the National Agency for Food Safety (DRAKU Korça) conducted inspections in two entities in Korça: a milk and by-products processing plant, as well as a chicken meat processing plant. These announced random inspections are carried out within the framework of transparency with the public and in implementation of Law No. 99/2024 “On inspection in the Republic of Albania”, while the General Inspectorate was on site to supervise the inspection process.
During the supervision, our attention was focused on following legal procedures, correct and professional conduct of inspectors, complete and regular documentation of each step, as well as verification of inspection authorization and relevant accompanying documentation. In addition, the use of appropriate work tools and equipment according to standards was monitored, including official identification means, necessary forms/acts, data recording and reporting equipment (including digital tools), as well as protective equipment when required by the nature of the control. All findings and assessments are reflected in the General Inspectorate's report on the performance of the inspection body, which serves for analysis, improvement of standards and increased accountability.
The General Inspectorate only supervises the inspection body and the way the inspection process is conducted, to guarantee integrity, legality and the implementation of standards. This monitoring aims at maximum transparency, equal implementation of procedures for all and strengthening public trust in the inspection process.
