Journalist Osman Stafa has filed a criminal complaint with SPAK, denouncing one of the most serious negligences in the Albanian healthcare system: the lack of brachytherapy treatment for women battling gynecological cancer.
The Staff Report is addressed to the leaders of the QSUT, the heads of the Oncology Hospital ward, officials of the Ministry of Health and any other person responsible for the maintenance and operation of the brachytherapy equipment, which has been out of order for a long time.
"This is not just a device, but a life opportunity. When the state forgets to maintain a life-saving device, this is not just negligence, it is a crime," Stafa wrote in a post on social media, where he also published the criminal report submitted to SPAK.
According to the journalist, this is only the first step in a long battle for justice and public accountability. "The truth will no longer be hidden. Silence is no longer an option," he concludes, calling on institutions to react to this alarming situation that directly affects the lives of hundreds of women in the country.
