The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, presented the plan of measures to guarantee order and security during the tourist season, emphasizing that managing the flow of visitors remains one of the institution's main priorities.
According to Hita, Albania is experiencing one of the best years in tourism, with millions of visitors choosing the country not only for its natural beauty, history and culture, but also because they perceive it as a welcoming and safe destination.
The Chief of Police underlined that the management of the tourist season is accompanied by an increased operational commitment throughout the territory, while emphasizing that the Border Police and the Traffic Police are the first contacts of visitors with Albania and must represent not only the authority of the law, but also hospitality and courtesy.

Speaking about security measures in coastal areas, Hita announced that patrols will be extended along the entire coastline in cooperation with the Coast Guard. He added that, unlike previous years, this season the maritime police unit will also be supported by aerial monitoring through drones, with the aim of more comprehensive control of the territory.
"Albania is experiencing its best year in tourism and millions of visitors choose our country not only for the beauties of nature, history and culture, but also because they perceive it as a welcoming and safe country. This is a national achievement, but at the same time a great responsibility for all security institutions and especially for the State Police. The year 2025 showed an extraordinary increase in the flow of tourists, vacationers and visitors, while the year 2026 is proving that Albania is now a consolidated regional and European destination throughout the year. For the State Police, the management of the tourist season remains an absolute priority and is accompanied by an increased operational commitment throughout the territory.
The Border Police and then the Traffic Police are the first contacts that a visitor makes in our country. Our uniform must represent the authority of the law, but also hospitality, integration and courtesy, as prominent values of Albanian society. Patrols extend along the entire coastline, in cooperation with the Coast Guard. Unlike other years, this season, the maritime police unit will support in an integrated manner from the air, with aerial monitoring, with drone monitoring to guarantee a more comprehensive control of the territory. I firmly emphasize that no type of violation of watercraft that endangers the lives of vacationers will be tolerated. Controls of watercraft, water motors, speedboats and tourist boats will be continuous and strict", he said.
