Here are the latest movements in the police ranks...
The State Police has continued with changes in management structures, where this Tuesday, new appointments were made in several police stations and border directorates in the country.
According to recent decisions, Alfred Cenaj has been appointed head of Commissariat No. 2 in Tirana. At the same time, there have also been moves in the border structures: Arbër Zemani leaves the Border Directorate in Shkodra and becomes the head of the Border Directorate in Vlora, Altin Lila is appointed director of the Border Directorate in Durrës, while Agim Basha takes over the Border Directorate in Shkodra.
These latest changes come within the framework of the reorganization of the State Police structures, with the aim of increasing efficiency and strengthening control at border points and public order.
Meanwhile, a number of other moves have been made at various leadership levels. One of the most important was the transfer of Besmir Dervishi, who left the post of deputy director of the Tirana Police to take up the post of chief of the Crimes Unit in Kukes. His place in the capital was taken by Oliger Torba, who was transferred from the same position in Fier.
At the central level, Director General Skënder Hita entrusted the leadership of the Operational Directorate to Alban Dautaj, who previously headed the Anti-Terror. He replaced Melsi Koçi, for whose departure no official explanation has been given.
Likewise, Ermal Kënaçi left the direction of Police Station No. 2 in Tirana and was transferred to Kukës, while Gent Ndoj, former director of the Financial Crime Investigation, was sent to Dibër.
Changes have also been made in the national security structures, with Edmond Sula appointed head of Anti-Terror, replacing Dautaj. Traffic structures have also been moved in Tirana, with Commander Joan Trungu transferred to head the "Arrows" special force.
The changes come after the appointment of Skënder Hita as head of the State Police. It seems that he is trying to bring a new spirit, as during the time of the old director, the police had fallen into a lethargic sleep.
