The trial for the former member of the KLA, Dritan Goxhaj, will be held today. His supporters have gathered in front of the Tirana Court to protest.
It is learned that the session is scheduled to start at 12:30, where the request for the extradition of the former KLA fighter will be approved.
For a long time, protesters have been demanding Goxhaj's release.
Dritan Goxhaj was arrested on July 31 by the Tirana Police, on behalf of the Special Court of Kosovo, with offices in The Hague, referring to the Letter-Order of the Special Court of Kosovo.
He is charged with two charges of "Intimidation during criminal proceedings" and "Obstructing an official in the performance of his duties". Absurd accusations have been raised after his writing as a free journalist "Memedheu, the KLA and the special court" Solidarity in support of the KLA fighter and free speech Dritan Goxhaj.
Goxhaj's lawyer, Bashkim Nikolla, described the arrest of his client as a politically motivated decision, adding that he is innocent.
Dritan Goxhaj, KLA fighter, Albanian soldier, intellectual and free speech journalist, was arrested on July 31 by the Albanian State Police, referring to the Letter-Order of the Kosovo Special Court.
This is the first case of the arrest of an Albanian citizen by order of the Specialized Chambers operating in The Hague with the laws of Kosovo.
