A significant number of Albanians from the diaspora have arrived in Tirana this Saturday to join the announced protest.
According to one of the protest coordinators, the participants traveled to Albania from several European countries, while some of them entered Albanian territory through the Muriqan border crossing, while others through Igoumenitsa.
The organizers said that the participating groups include Albanians coming from Switzerland, Italy and Greece, as well as from Belgium, France, Austria, Great Britain and Germany.
According to them, many of the participants traveled for two days to be present at the protest. They described the mobilization as an attempt to unite the voice of the diaspora, emphasizing that the rally will have a political character.
The protest coordinator also called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign and pave the way for the creation of an apolitical transitional government.
"Some Albanians from Switzerland, Italy and Greece have traveled to Igoumenitsa and are coming from the South.
Belgium, France, Austria, Britain, Germany are coming from the North.
We have traveled for two full days.
This call to unite the voice is extraordinary. The launch we made from Britain was that this should be political. We have set a condition that the protest be political.
We call on Rama, the uncrowned king, for making a mess of it, we are here with one condition, resign while it is not too late and pave the way for the apolitical transitional government," said one of the organizers.
