The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, congratulated the United States of America on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Independence.
Through a post on social networks, Berisha praised the history and contribution of the US, emphasizing that Americans celebrate this anniversary "freer, more prosperous and safer."
"Today, the 250th anniversary of US Independence
Dear friends, today the great American nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of its country's Independence.
Americans celebrate this 250th anniversary freer, more prosperous, and more secure, but also with a glory and pride like no other nation. Over these 250 years, the free American nation, with its creative genius, transformed its country from a former colony of the United Kingdom into the leading country and nation of humanity in politics, security, economics, science, education, health, high technology, and every other field. But, above all, into the leading country of freedom in the world. Therefore, this 250th anniversary is a great event for all freedom-loving humanity.
For us Albanians, the great American nation and the US government have had, at several key moments, a defining role in the history of our nation's freedom: in saving Albania from those who wanted to wipe it off the face of the earth, as well as in the liberation and independence of Kosovo.
"God bless the USA, their nation and their proud flag," Berisha wrote.
We recall that, in 2021, Sali Berisha was declared "non grata" by the United States for corruption and undermining democracy. A few weeks ago, the administration of President Donald Trump lifted the ban on his travel to American territory.
