SPAK starts seizing the properties of Jamarbë Malltez

The seizure of the properties of Jamarbë Malltez has started.

The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana has imposed the "preventive sequestration" asset insurance measure for 16 real estates owned by Jamarbër Malltez.

The son-in-law of former Prime Minister Berisha has six bank accounts blocked as well as shares in several companies.

This Monday morning, the officers of the Judicial Police have started work on the ground for the preventive seizure of 25 assets of Malltez.

Initially, they went to second level banks to seize 6 accounts in the name of the son-in-law of the former prime minister and then they will go to three companies, namely Homeplan shpk, where Jamarbër Malltezi has 45% of the shares, Magnet IMO shpk where it has 100% of the shares and Magnet Gym and Fit, where it has 60% of the shares.

Out of 16 apartments, 7 of them are located on "Mustafa Matohoti" street, which is also known as the alley of the former prime minister, since Berisha lives here in the apartment in the name of his daughter, where according to the decision of the GJKKO, this apartment will also to pass into sequestration.

Also, the properties at the former "Partizani" complex and a villa in Gjirin e Lalzi, where Berisha usually spends his time during the summer, have also been placed under sequestration, based on his posts on social networks.

Representatives of the State Police from the Directorate of Economic Crime have arrived at the villa of Jamarbë Malltez in Gjirin e Lalzi to place a preventive seizure on this property.

Officers are physically present at the premises to make the announcement and change the locks. Until another decision, these will be in sequestration and Malltezi cannot carry out any other procedure, be it sale, purchase or rent.

Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who previously held the post of Head of the Department of Environment in the Democratic Party, was arrested on Saturday evening at Rinas airport.

Malltezi is suspected of money laundering and corruption. By the decision of the Special Court, a security measure has also been imposed on Sali Berisha. At the request of SPAK, Berisha has been given the measure "obligation to appear" and "prohibition of leaving the country". Also, at the request of SPAK for the same issue, a security measure has also been set for the businessman Fatmir Bekteshi.

We recall that in November 2020, Taulant Balla, in the capacity of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, reported Malltez, former Minister of Defense Arben Imami, as well as other members of the Council of Ministers of the Berisha government 2005-2013 for the alienation of state property Sports club "Partizani".
