The figures programmed in the 2024 budget of the municipality of Tirana show that the burden of the capital's families and businesses for the property tax will increase by 53 percent this year, compared to last year.
More specifically, according to the tables for the year 2023, families and commercial entities in Tirana pay a total of about 2.48 billion ALL as property tax. For this year, the figure will increase to 3.8 billion ALL or about 37 million euros.
According to detailed data, most of the additional burden goes to businesses. The business bill for the property tax increases by almost 11 million euros this year compared to the previous year, while for families the increase is over 2 million euros compared to 2023.
The increase in the reference prices on which the property tax is calculated came into force in the summer of last year. But its full effects on the capital's families and businesses will be felt this year with an additional bill over 53 per cent higher. / Kapitali.al
