High temperatures, Brataj: Wear hats and avoid staying in the sun

With the increase in temperatures, there has been a slight increase in calls to the National Emergency. Skënder Brataj, head of the Emergency, invited to News24 said that there are currently about 160 calls per day, about 20 more than in May.

He calls for increased care for children, the elderly, and the chronically ill, while providing some practical advice for protection from the heat, including the correct use of air conditioning, food storage, and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.

" There is a slight increase in emergency cases, due to the heat. There are 20 more calls per day compared to May. It is a season that fluctuates from year to year. There are 160 calls per day for emergency assistance. They should be more prepared for people who are most at risk, children, the elderly, but also for others, of course. We should take a good look at the air conditioner filters, whether they have been changed or not.

Those who do not have air conditioning should check if the room is too exposed to the sun. People at risk should be careful. When temperatures are high outside, you can keep the air conditioner at 20-22 degrees. When it is hot outside and it has not been hot inside, when you leave the apartment or other place, you can go out slowly. When you have symptoms such as eye strain or other, you can rest a little. Seasonal viruses have heat as their ally. When you are very sick, you should seek help. Sedentary life has negatively affected diseases even in people under 60 years of age. You should be careful with food, make sure it is controlled. If you take food out of the refrigerator, do not put it back in. When it is hot, find a shade, tree, etc. A stroke can also come from the strong sun. We should mainly wear white clothes, it would be good to wear a hat, and glasses are also a good thing. "Citizens should wash their hands as much as possible, and people at risk should try not to go out between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. ," he said.
