The project foresees the use of oak wood, hidden LED lighting and new furniture for judges, prosecutors and lawyers.
The Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime has launched the procurement procedure for the remodeling of four courtrooms. The funding limit amounts to 299,688 euros and the deadline for submitting bids ends on February 16.
The tender documents stipulate that the winning company must complete the works within two months of the contract signing. The architectural project, designed by architect Rajmonda Mydinllari, foresees complete changes to the existing premises.
The walls will be clad in solid oak wood up to the ceiling, replacing the current plastering. The wood panels will be painted with a 30 percent gloss and the assembly must ensure precise fit between the elements. The existing gypsum ceiling will be removed and replaced with decorative plaster cladding, combined with concealed LED lighting.
The project also includes layering parquet with carpet over laminate. The specifications call for neutral or dark colors and a design that hides stains. The carpet must be suitable for high-traffic public spaces and maintain its shape under conditions of constant use.
Acoustically insulated doors and ecological leather upholstery will be installed in the halls. For the furnishings, the documents require the use of natural European oak for the tables of judges, prosecutors, lawyers and the administration, as well as for the chairs and podium. The elements will be carved according to the project presented in the renderings, Top Channel reports.
The consultation rooms will also undergo changes. The wooden materials must be free of signs of biodegradation or cracking and resistant to moisture. The coat of arms of the Republic of Albania and that of the institution will be prominently displayed in the new premises.
