Today's hearing at the Criminal Court for Ilir Meta was accompanied by tensions and debates.
In a statement to journalists, his lawyer, Kujtim Carkrani, said that Meta clashed with prosecutor Sotir Kllapi.
"There was a tension between Mr. Meta and Mr. Kllapi. Kllapi was alone, Kraja and Dumani did not appear. After he reported, he was incorrect, both in terms of dates and at different times. This caused us to get irritated and interrupt him time and time again. We are in a preliminary session where we have to look at the procedural actions. At the moment when they deceive as in the case of lobbying, when in fact Meta has not signed any document.
They report facts that they interpret and the prosecutor said I will report them, but these are not evidence. We want concrete accusations against Mr. Meta, Kryemadhi, etc. How can the prosecutor come without a list of evidence?! We get irritated by every ambiguity that the prosecutor makes in his report.
"We have reached page 104, there are 217 pages plus the new evidence, there are about 250 pages. We have to read line by line and letter by letter. So there are another 100 pages, which I do not believe will be finished today ," the lawyer explained.
