After a relatively wet January, rainfall has returned to most of the country and, according to forecasts, it does not intend to stop for a few more days.
Invited to the show Sot Live in Albania, meteorologist Anila Gjoni provided details about the weather situation in the coming days, explaining that the rainfall will continue, but without causing serious problems such as flooding or rivers overflowing their banks.
According to Gjon, during this afternoon, rainfall will affect the entire territory, but in the regions of Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Vlorë and Gjirokastër they will intensify and will be of average intensity on Thursday night and throughout Friday. While in the rest of the country, rainfall is expected to be weaker, with occasional thunderstorms.
Temperatures remain relatively high for this period, especially in low-lying areas. On Friday, minimum temperatures are expected to be around 8 degrees Celsius, while maximums will reach 13. In mountainous areas, the thermometer will drop to 2 degrees Celsius in the morning and rise to 8 degrees Celsius during the day.
Saturday will bring a slight drop in temperatures and a lull in rainfall, but they will return again after February 1. However, according to Gjoni, no problematic situation is expected: "The rainfall will be of medium intensity. We do not expect flooding, river overflows or any similar emergency," she said.
For the weekend, the weather is forecast to be unstable, with alternating rain and moments of calm, but temperatures will increase by about 2 degrees on Sunday, February 1st.
