Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu commented on the opposition's protest today in front of the parliament.
He says that protests are necessary in a democratic society, as he adds that opposition activists are consuming themselves with many causes without leading any of them to the end.
"I basically stand by the opinion that there are no harmful protests, they are useful as long as there are no victims. Every protest puts the state in a more progressive and controlling position. Albania does not have a two-party system. In 1990 we brought Albania into pluralism.
This is the comfort we have. Anyone who considers themselves in opposition would do well to protest. If the protest fails, it harms the opposition. Every party should protest when the issue of corruption takes international proportions. The question is how successful the cause is and how much popular support. In Albania, protests are political and do not cross party lines.
The second is the distribution of causes and the consumption of protesters. The same people protest on Monday at the town hall, on Tuesday in the alley, on Thursday at the parliament. These activists are consumed. The product of the protests, the harvest is reaped on election day.
We will see the result in April 2025. These have been successful in two elements. The first have taken the lead and overshadowed some other political factors, including the official PD, and have stronger media coverage. These have received 24 hours of space which is political food. In their strategy they are in order today. that they will reach tomorrow, I am skeptical" , said Spahiu for "Report Tv".
