The scandal surrounding the poisoning of children in Gramsh deepens. After the incident at the state kindergarten was kept secret, today the institutions have begun to react, but it seems they have not come to an agreement with each other.
Initially, the hospital director stated that 3 children had presented, two with mild symptoms and one with severe symptoms. Meanwhile, the Health Care Services Operator stated that there was only one child with mild symptoms who received health care.
For their part, the parents themselves claim that all the children had the same symptoms, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Preliminary tests indicate suspicions of salmonella. Given that all the children ate the same food, it is difficult to believe the health authorities' claim.
Healthcare Service Operator Clarification
Following media reports on a situation that occurred at a preschool in the city of Gramsh, we would like to clarify that the Local Health Care Unit has immediately begun investigating the case.
1 child presented with mild gastrointestinal complaints and was referred for laboratory tests by the relevant pediatrician.
As part of the epidemiological investigation, a total of 76 samples were taken from children and employees, and are in the process of analysis.
The results of the analysis are not yet final and are expected to be available tomorrow, May 25, 2025.
The Gramsh NJVKSH has notified the National Food Authority (AKU) and the Institute of Public Health (ISHP) and are cooperating closely with local structures to ensure a complete and careful assessment of the situation.
We emphasize that all actions have been taken in a timely and professional manner, and there is no room for additional concern at this stage.
Any further information will be made public in a transparent manner, once the relevant analyses and verifications are completed.
