Journalist Sokol Bregu has shared details from the joint operation with Italian authorities "Ura", which hit a criminal group involved in international drug trafficking.
In an interview with "MCN TV", Bregu said that the group's main base was in Durrës, while its key man was Elvis Doçi, known as "Visi i Pojës" and the nephew of Xhevdet Troplini.
The latter, according to Bregu, is considered by Italian authorities to be the leader of the group, but has not yet been captured. Bregu stressed that his arrest is inevitable.
" Out of 22 accused people, catching 11 is not a small feat. There have been many efforts by the authorities to catch such groups, and the progress of the operation should be evaluated."
"Even though not everyone has been caught, it is an important step. The prosecution must continue to rely on facts and evidence, so that the case does not fall through in court, " he said.
He also stressed the importance of investigations continuing carefully and reflecting the truth, given that these criminal groups are highly organized and always have tipsters on police movements.
" There is no doubt that these groups have large budgets and are always ready to react. They have the ability to monitor every police movement and protect any important information."
Regarding the investigations, efforts to capture the leader of the group, 'Visin i Pojës', are unstoppable and he considered them a great help in the fight against organized crime.
The operation has not been exposed and has yielded results. It is important that the Prosecution continues to rely on facts and solid evidence, so that there are no obstacles from the court.
"Important steps have been taken to crack down on organized crime, even though not all members of the accused group have been caught ," the journalist added.
