The apartment of the judge, Tonin Sterkaj in the city of Shkodra was shaken in the early hours of Sunday by the explosion of a quantity of tritol. The local police, in its report, said that the incident happened around 03:13 in the morning.
The explosive device was placed at the gate of the judge's apartment, in the "Tom Kola" neighborhood, in the city of Shkodra. At the time of the incident, the judge was in the apartment with his family.
The criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, invited to the "Central Edition" of news on ABC News, said that in the last two years there has been an increase in attacks, which have had effective targets of the police and judicial personnel.
"For several years, attacks and events against police officers and the judiciary have been intensifying. They have turned into terrorist acts to intimidate them and make them sign for everyone", said Karamuço.
He emphasized that in Shkodër and Malësi i Madhe, it is noticeable that certain people have created drug cartels, and in these conditions they work to intimidate judges.
"Starting from other events, there is a phenomenon, which is noticed in Shkodër and Malësi i Madhe, of the cultivation of narcotics and these people have created cartels. The person moved with a mask, it should be seen if he removed the mask at the intersection. A car might have been waiting for him somewhere. The footage is being investigated," he said.
Regarding this event, Karamuço said that the investigative group is going through all the possible information about the work of the judge and about the platforms, which led to such an act.
"The cases and files that the judge had are being investigated. There are two major issues, of which there have been problems in the area of Shkodra, the first is property and there has been an extraordinary abuse, and then the cultivation of narcotics, which has spread in Malësi i Madhe and in the foothills of Shkodra." he emphasized.
At the end of the interview, Karamuço said that such actions should be classified as terrorist acts and that people who dare to attack state functionaries and officials should receive maximum punishment.
"These are fallen acts, which in terms of the interpretation of the law, should be qualified as terrorist acts. Their position should be made worse, because they are repeated forms that our officials are consecrating", he added.
