"Focus Media News" has announced that former DP MP, Dhurata Çupi, has been appointed as the general director of this media institution.
Dhurata Çupi, who did not return to her seat as a member of parliament in the fall, then represented the Dibra district during this legislature. On May 11, she ran in Tirana on the open lists, but did not succeed in being re-elected.
Before taking over the leadership of “Focus Media News”, Dhurata Çupi has served in important roles in the political and institutional life of the country, where she has made valuable contributions to issues that directly affect the public interest, the development of local areas and the empowerment of women in decision-making. She is known for her critical, yet constructive voice in defense of the right to information and the truth. Ms. Dhurata Çupi graduated from the Faculty of Law.
She was a member of the Democratic Party in the Dibra Region from 2016-2025. Çupi has been a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance, a member of several Parliamentary Investigative Committees, Undersecretary of the Subcommittee on Local Government, a member of the Council on Rules of Procedure, Mandates and Immunities, chairwoman of the Alliance of Women Deputies, member and vice chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Laws, Human Rights and Public Administration, as well as a trainer for the Local Government Council for Public Property Administration; chairwoman of the Legislative Council, co-chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Territorial Reform, and member of the National Council for European Integration. Also, Dhurata Çupi has been director of the Legal Directorate at the Municipality of Tirana, external lecturer of the subject "Local Government Law" at the university, president of the Agency for Inventory and Treatment of Public Property at the Ministry of Interior, head of the legality sector at the AITPP at the Ministry of Local Government and lawyer of the Legal Directorate at the Municipality of Tirana.
