Today, the late poet Agim Doçi was taken to his last residence. He passed away after a few days of struggle with serious health problems.
Doçi suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Saturday, June 22, and was in intensive care for several days. The poet's wife, Yllka Doçi, spoke during the follow-up ceremony, saying that he failed to receive the pension he was due for 11 years.
"Dawn has not been appreciated enough. A master like Agim Doçi did not even manage to receive the pension he has been entitled to for 11 years. Dawn has been politically murdered." said Yllka Doçi.
Meanwhile, the well-known poet's sister says that no institution has been offered to pay her respects.
"It's not like we were offered any tributes, I think he's very pleased that he wanted the love of people and not institutions." said the deceased's sister.
Doçi was the author of many lyrics of Albanian songs, the winner of over 50 awards, among them a two-time representative with his lyrics in Eurovision. The collaboration with the composer Edmond Zhulali in many songs of festivals in Albania and with over 100 songs about the war in Kosovo, where we can mention very popular songs such as "Marrshi i KLA", "Does innocence die", stands out.
