Lawyer Sokol Mëngjesi was brutally assaulted this morning (Wednesday) in the former Block area while he was taking the child to kindergarten.
Unmasked persons hit him with metal gloves, causing numerous wounds on his head and body.
Sokol Mêngjesi is one of the lawyers of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in his legal process as he is being investigated by SPAK for the Partizani complex.
But Berisha is not the only VIP "client" of the Mêngjesi lawyer. He is also the lawyer of Mirel Mërtir and Klodian Zoto in the Tirana incinerator case.
Lawyer Mêngjesi, with a rich CV, directed the Faculty of Law in the position of Dean for about a year, until he resigned for personal reasons in 2021.
Previously, he also held positions as Chairman of the Council of Professors of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana, External Legal Advisor to the Head of the Property Handling Agency, while he continues to be a Lecturer in the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law.
Sokol Mêngjesi graduated from the Faculty of Law at the "DEMOKRITUS" University in Greece, where he also completed his master's degree. He counts a large participation in conferences, studies and presentations in the country and abroad in the field of justice, while he is also the author of several publications.
