The search for the 3-year-old boy who went missing in Durrës is still ongoing.
There are no details about the fate of the little one, while he has been missing for 7 days, after his mother had let him spend a few hours with his grandparents in the area of the former swamp in Durrës.
Since April 16, when mother Ile Gjuni reported her son's disappearance, photos of the 3-year-old have been sent to all border crossing points, sources in the Durrës police say.
The police have signaled all land, air and sea border crossing points, giving them the data of the child, family members, as well as clothing and other details that can lead to the identification of the minor.
Sources from the investigative group indicate that so far it has not been confirmed that the boy left the country, but there are suspicions that they may have crossed the border with Kosovo illegally.
The suspicions are that his grandmother Bahrije Gjuni is with her son inside Albania, living in a rented house. However, the departure from Albania still remains a track of investigation.
Searches for finding the minor are concentrated in Has, where the Gjuni family originates. It is learned that 15 apartments were checked in the area of Kruma where it was thought that Bahrija and her grandson could be housed.
For the disappearance of the 3-year-old, the police have arrested the grandfather Rexhep Gjuni, 60 years old, and Arben Selaj, the brother of the 3-year-old's grandmother. Grandmother Bahrije Gjuni, 57 years old, and her other brother Flamur Selaj, 43 years old, are wanted. Grandfather Gjuni did not help the investigative team, not giving any information about where the minor could be.
The serious family drama was narrated by 23-year-old Ile Gjuni, who stated that the problems with her ex-father-in-law arose after her husband died in an accident. She went to live with her parents in the area of the former swamp, while the former in-laws constantly demanded custody of the 3-year-old, which is not their right by law. To reduce tensions, she took the boy to his grandparents during the weekends, but on Saturday they refused to return the minor child, claiming that they will raise him by themselves.
