A wave of attacks and lynchings continue on social media against artists who supported Mayor Veliaj in court on Friday. The subject of the harshest attacks is the great Robert Ndrenika.
For " Report TV ", the leading actor of the Albanian scene says that he does not understand this whole hate campaign. He appreciates Erion Veliaj and describes his relationship with him as with a "soul son".
" So why do they react like this?! Hey, tell me! A man knows his own business. I have an adopted son! I know his life well and he knows my life well. I have him as my own son ," says actor Robert Ndrenika, contacted by phone by Report TV.
The great Robert Ndrenika, with the calm and humility given to him by the greatness of a life as a luminary of Albanian art, looks with contempt upon all the lynching, insults and hate campaign against him on social networks, and not only, just because of a gesture of support for Mayor Erion Veliaj in court.
Convinced that he would do this again for Veliaj, whom he highly values as a person and mayor, the actor who has marked the lives of every Albanian with his characters, says that he made the decision on the spot, as he would do for a family member.
" People close to Erion informed me that there was a hearing and asked me if I wanted to go. I went without thinking twice ," says Ndrenika.
In an exclusive reaction to " Report Tv ", Ndrenika ignores all that hatred from a group of people, strangers or even politicians, as he speaks with emotion about his personal relationship with Veliaj, calling him his "soul son".
" I have a son in my heart. I know and appreciate him, I know his life and he knows mine. If he needs me again, I will still be there ," he says.
According to the actor, human connections are not limited to biological family.
" A person doesn't have relatives just their parents, children, or siblings. There are also people they choose along the way and become close to them ," actor Robert Ndrenika tells Report TV.
Not only as a "son in spirit" but also as the head of the Municipality of Tirana, he recognizes a great merit. The man who spent decades on stage, says that with the project for the new theater in the capital, Erion Veliaj is realizing a great dream, not only his but also that of an entire golden generation of artists, of which he is a part.
" Among other things, Erioni realized a big dream of mine and of many artists: a large, beautiful and modern theater in the center of Tirana, which will soon be ready ," emphasizes Ndrenika.
In Friday's session at the Administrative Court for the lawsuit filed by Mayor Erjon Veliaj against Prosecutor Ols Dado, in addition to Robert Ndrenika, other artists from the Albanian scene were in the hall, actors, singers, but also publicists and journalists. A sign of support in the fight that the mayor has been fighting for justice for months.
