A beach bar in the Radhima area was engulfed in flames on the evening of May 8, with the owners suspecting that the fire was intentional and related to previous ownership conflicts.
According to the Çanaj family, who managed the business, the incident occurred at around 9:40 p.m. One of the family members, Dejsi Çanaj, stated that she initially heard movement near the bar and a few minutes later the building was engulfed in flames.
"I heard some noises at first and at 9:40 PM I heard my grandmother screaming when she saw the fire and within minutes everyone was engulfed in flames. We suspect it was intentional, as the electricity was out and it couldn't have been a fault. We have always had conflicts with the ownership," she told the media.
After the incident, Vlora Police forces arrived at the scene and immediately launched an investigation. The blue uniformed officers questioned the owners and family members, while the security cameras of the business and surrounding buildings were seized to identify the suspected perpetrator.
According to family statements, the suspect fled towards the hills of the village of Radhimë after the fire broke out.
Meanwhile, investigators are analyzing video footage and taking testimony from residents of the area to clarify the circumstances and cause of the incident.
