In Kosovo, the Basic Court in Pristina sentenced Ekrem Bajrovic to 12 years in prison for war crimes in Istog during 1998–1999, for participating in a campaign of repression against Albanian civilians.

In the international arena, Italian experts warn that Albanian criminal groups have become significantly stronger in Europe, getting involved in cocaine trafficking and expanding their networks through corruption, technology and international connections.

Meanwhile, the suspected perpetrator of an explosives attack on a Ukrainian oligarch has been identified in Monaco, and she is still on the run.

In Venezuela, the situation after two earthquakes remains dramatic, with over 2,500 deaths and thousands injured and missing, while search and rescue operations continue.
