Today, temperatures will increase significantly throughout the entire territory of Albania, as a result of a strong heat wave that has swept the country.
According to meteorologists, in some of the main cities, such as Tirana, Elbasan, Berat and Shkodra, the thermometer is expected to rise to 39 degrees Celsius, making this one of the hottest days of the period.
In the western lowland areas and along the coast, including the south of the country, maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius, bringing stable atmospheric conditions and clear weather throughout the day.
Meanwhile, in mountainous areas temperatures will be more moderate, with values predicted to range from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius.
The weather will be dominated by clear skies and sunshine, while during the afternoon, slight and transient cloudiness may appear in the mountainous areas, without bringing rainfall.
According to forecasts, the heat wave will continue to affect the first days of next week, keeping temperatures at high levels. Nighttime hours are also expected to be warmer than usual, especially in the coastal and low-lying areas of the country.
