Journalist Artan Hoxha has spoken about the traffic of foreign smugglers who cross illegally into Albania in order to reach the borders of European Union countries.
Analyzing the tragic accident that happened the day before in Këlcyra where the driver from Shkodra and the 7 Pakistani immigrants he was transporting illegally died, Hoxha explained how the clandestine traffic lines work in Albania.
"It mostly works in this form. In Albania, we have local traffickers, clandestine traffickers and so-called traffickers who have come to Albania, opened a business as a cover and coordinate their actions while staying here. There are Egyptian citizens, Arabs, who settled in Albania and organized the traffic of clandestines. Chinese are settled here, Filipinos, Albania is full of immigrants coming from these countries. Those who are in Albania coordinate the connections with those who bring them and with the locals who pass them to the EU countries. In this particular case, it happened in this form. Traffickers from Asian countries staying in Greece have connections with Albanian traffickers in order to pass them to the EU.
He in Greece organizes entry into Greek territory, crossing into Greek territory. Albanians take them from inside the Greek border, they have the law that allows them to bring them through the green border. They then pass in two directions, through Montenegro and Kosovo ", explained Hoxha on the show "Top Talk".
Among other things, the journalist explained how in the cases that have been caught so far, the clandestines are received by various groups of Albanians in the south of the country, such as Tepelena and Gjirokastër, and then they are taken over by people from the north who make their way to Kosovo or Mali Black.
" In the cases that have been caught so far, the traffickers waiting are Tepelen, Gjirokastër, Përmet, etc. They bring them to the country, then from the north, pick them up and take them across the border. This is traffic that does not bring in a very large amount of money. In one case in Pogradec, a group of 86 people was caught, with 300 euros each" , said the journalist.
