Journalist Andi Bushati reacted with irony after the news of the arrest of the directors of Erion Veliaj, who stole Albanians' taxes and then invested them in their businesses.
Bushati writes that after stealing taxes, they were exempted from taxes for their investments.
"What a gem, they steal tax money, and when they invest it as their own, they are exempt from taxes," writes Bushati.
Arrests by order of SPAK have brought to three the number of senior directors of the Municipality of Tirana put in handcuffs for corruption.
By order of SPAK, Redjan Molla and Mariglen Qato have been handcuffed, who succeed Taulant Tusha, the former General Director of Public Works in the Municipality of Tirana, arrested on December 8, 2023 for the affair with the Tirana incinerator.
The arrests are related to the 5D file, opened after the denunciation that the candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition for Tirana Municipality, Belind Kelliçi, made a few months ago.
Mariglen Qato, otherwise known as the right-hand man of the mayor Erion Veliaj, has held the position of director of the IMT in the capital's municipality.
Redi Molla was the director of UKT and left his post in 2020.
