Tonight's guest on the "Të Pashoq" podcast was Pamflet editor Gjergj Zefi. Speaking about current political events and the opposition's demands for Rama's resignation, he dismissed the possibility that Prime Minister Edi Rama would resign voluntarily to pave the way for a caretaker government.
According to Zefi, this is not only impossible in practice, but also against Rama's own interests, who would have to silently or indirectly accept all the affairs in which he is personally involved.
" Why should he resign? Because if he does, he accepts everything that has been said about him ," Zefi declared.
According to him, Rama has not taken responsibility for any of the recent affairs, always stating that “they have eaten pears from behind his back.” But Zefi is convinced that the traces of every scandal end up precisely with the head of government. He mentioned by name well-known issues that have involved the government such as: the incinerator affair, the sterilization and check-up contracts, the Llogara tunnel, and the Ecopark project, emphasizing that in all cases, beyond the names of the officials involved, it is Rama who has been at the center of decision-making.
Excerpt from the conversation
-The technical government, even though you ruled it out, at least in the short term, because you say Rama does not resign of his own free will.
Gjergj Zefi: Why should he resign? Because if he resigns, he will accept everything that has been said about him.
-Okay, there's no reason to give it?
Gjergj Zefi: He has 100, 100,000 reasons, but so far he has not taken responsibility for any of what has happened. He said that they have eaten pears behind my back. At a time when in all these, affairs, it is Rama. I do not know that there is any affair in Albania that is opened and it is not Rama. In the incinerators, it is Rama. It is well known that Rama has prepared them, has taken 17 decisions within a day, and others and others. Even those of Ilir Beqja, the famous ones...
-Yes, the sterilization ones...
He protected them too. It is well known who gave them the tunnel, let them say what they say now, not Belinda, not...
-Llogara Tunnel.
The Llogara Tunnel was given to Erdogan. This is well known. The Ecopark. And who took the Ecopark? And for whom did they take the Ecopark? And why was the former director of the Ecopark appointed as the director of the Tirana Waterworks? So, all traces lead to Edi Rama. So if Edi Rama resigns now, he accepts... So there is no way he can resign. The only way to resign is through SPAK or popular protest.
