The deputy secretary of the Freedom Party, Silva Caka, has revealed new details regarding the arrest of former president Ilir Meta.
While condemning the action of the state police, Caka said that if the former president had in his car and the two guards assigned to him by law, the balance of that moment would have been completely different and even guns could have been fired or there were also victims.
"It's been two years since Ilir Meta left the presidency. We all know that he does not live alone, but is guarded by the Guards. Meta did not present any danger. The police have a protocol for formal elements, clothing, logos, etc... Without a uniform, could Ilir Meta know that he was opposing the state police? Who said he wasn't up against some thugs he could eliminate. Even the person accompanying him said that we calmed down when we saw the state police. When we find out that these are politically oriented actions by an anonymous minister... What if Meta had the Guard, there are two officers that he does not prefer to keep. I know who would be in the news today. I guarantee you that the Guardsmen would shoot the gun", said the PL official for "A2 CNN".
According to Caka, the whole moment of the arrest was staged, since Ilir Meta has been in pursuit since the border of Kosovo. She added that the video was released before the former president arrived at the Police Directorate with the sole purpose of making a show.
"They followed Meta from the border of Kosovo, they were not unaware. They have chosen the country. The video was published in the media before Meta went to the Police Department. All these things were synchronized", said Caka.
