Residents of Rrjoll in Velipojë have been continuing their protests for almost two months against the construction of the "Blue Borgo" resort by oligarch Bashkim Ulaj.
One of the residents' representatives, Luçiana Kokaj, states that the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office has not taken concrete action regarding their case, describing the situation as institutional negligence.
During her reaction, Kokaj raised accusations against Bashkim Ulaj, claiming that through the support of the police and criminal elements, attempts are being made to seize residents' properties.
She warned that, in her opinion, these properties will not be enjoyed by anyone if they are taken unfairly.
"The residents of Rrjoll are on their land every day, protecting the land of their ancestors, despite the injustice of the institutions. We will never give it up. You can continue to seek resort with the police, with the state, with the help of crime and the mafia. But no one will enjoy our land. The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office continues to sleep on our files, while it should be giving it gas to give the people their rights. The police that are paid by our taxes should be there to protect us and not to protect crime. The police today have been mobilized to protect a forger of papers. This is unprecedented in any country in Europe. Property is not just a problem of Rrjoll today, but of every Albanian family," said Kokaj, among other things.
Residents of Baks-Rrjoll continue to protest every day, often facing the presence of police forces. Despite this, according to them, the institutions have not yet provided a solution, while the issue remains pending.
