Journalist Klodiana Lala discussing the theft of TIMS system data and the arrest of the director of this institution, Ervin Muça, has revealed new details from the file.
According to Lalaj, the prosecutor's office of Tirana has not conducted any investigation for 1 month, since the day when the denunciation was registered.
"On August 4, the Tirana prosecutor received a referral from the Police Surveillance Agency with the secret code. On this same date, the State Police Directorate submitted a criminal report against Ervin Muça.
The file remained until September 9 without action, and this remains to be investigated. Procedural investigations began on September 9, 2023. Director Muhamet Rrumbullaku and Minister Balla should have been suspended until the prosecution reached a final conclusion.
There are at least 5 police officers who say that Muça asked us for the codes to access the server, we have not accepted, because normally the server makes backups twice a day manually and since we are not specialists in making backups , he threatened us that he would take us to the prosecutor's office.
At 1:30 p.m. on August 2, Ervin Muça and ANA officials entered the premises of the Directorate of Technology and Information and a woman who does not clearly know what her function is and there were strong conflicts between Ervin Muça and Ardit Muços, head of the sector.
Ervin Muça asked Ardi Muça for the security codes. The head of the sector refused to give the codes saying that these codes could only be given according to the standards. Ervin Muça has threatened his subordinates and closed all access to the head of the sector.
Between 1:30 p.m. on August 2 and 1:30 a.m. on August 3, according to the prosecution, the TIMS system was accessed via a computer and an external hard drive was used to retrieve material. What the prosecution does not explain is the motive why this intervention happened", said Klodiana Lala on SYRI TV.
