The meeting of the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen with the Head of State, Bajram Begaj, has ended, thus ending the visit to Albania.
It is learned that the focus of the meeting was the integration of Albania into the European Union.
The EC President's visit to Tirana came just a few days after Albania opened the first group of chapters of negotiations for EU membership.
"We open our door to the EU common market for our Western Balkan partners, i.e. Western Balkan companies in certain sectors", said the President of the European Commission during the conference with Prime Minister Rama a day ago.
She added that "our partners in the Western Balkans are implementing important reforms and these reforms are supported by us".
Von der Leyen's visit is part of the tour of the Western Balkans with a focus on the EU package for growth and reforms in the region, which includes financial assistance of 6 billion euros for these countries.
This Wednesday, the European Commission approved the growth plan and the first payments from the 6 billion euro package for Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia are expected to begin.
