Diamand Tema, the Albanian YouTuber with 870 thousand subscribers on his channel, has been declared wanted by the Turkish state.
He is accused of attacking the ruling party of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for its Islamic leanings. Therefore, the Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç has issued an order for the arrest of the YouTuber, with the charge of "inciting public hatred and enmity..." due to the insulting and provocative expressions used about the Prophet Muhammad.
Mimoza Elezi, the mother of the 30-year-old Albanian, told in an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania that her son has not offended anyone and is being accused unjustly.
"He said that I don't accept that a 9-year-old minor girl marries an elderly man and for me it is immoral and inhuman...", Mimoza Elezi, Diamant's mother, tells Euronews Albania.
Since Monday, he has left Turkey due to death threats received on social networks.
"Last year Diamanti had such threats from the sailors for his programs and last years elections we were afraid that they might attack him... I haven't slept for four days, I can't eat, I can't think, I have children ...threats like 'whoever cuts his hand we will pay 10 thousand lira', 'whoever cuts his leg we will pay'..., his mother tells Euronews Albania.
A year ago, Diamant Tema moved to Albania together with his mother and wife, where he is currently hiding, due to fear of threats.
