The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, has revealed the stage of the preparations and how the Albanian emigrants living abroad will have to vote on May 11.
In the show 'Debate' on A2 CNN, Celibashi said that the process of preparations for voting from abroad has gone in accordance with all the obligations that the electoral code has provided.
He also said that one of the steps that has been taken is the approval of the decision regarding the documents that will have to be uploaded to the platform, so that voters from abroad during the registration and application process can be registered in the voter list.
" The first task of the CEC consisted in the preparation of by-laws, which will pave the way and have paved the way for the process of preparations for voting from abroad. Until the moment we speak, the Regulatory Commission has approved the by-laws under its competence, as well as in my capacity as a state commissioner, I have also approved some by-laws. Among the main acts worth mentioning is the registration of voters from abroad, with the procedures for registration and preparation of voter lists.
It is an act that is approved by the Regulatory Commission. We have approved the decision from the Regulatory Commission on voting procedures, i.e. sending ballots, electoral documentation, who prepares it, when it is sent, how it is sent, how it is returned to the CEC. The decision has been approved regarding the documents that voters from abroad, during the process of registration and application to be registered in the list of voters, will have to upload to the platform, documentation related to the address that the voter declared during the application process .
We have approved the decision on the functionalities and technical characteristics of the registration system, of the foreign voter registration platform. We have finished building this platform. I think that the process of preparing voting from abroad has gone in accordance with all the provisions and obligations that the electoral code has provided for , "said Celibashi.
